Position: Technical Export Support Engineer
Location: UK - Based at either Farnborough, Bradford or Milton Keynes offices.
Summary
As part of the Product Support Team the Technical Export Support Engineer will assume full responsibility for providing high quality technical expertise in the field, including all expects of service support and training to our overseas agent and distributor channels. This is a senior technical service role working together with both our distribution network and Export sales team.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Proactively support the agent and distributors channels regarding all technical matters relating to the company products.
- You will be required to take ownership of all export customers service and resolve through to completion.
- To develop and promote the company's service product offering in our export markets.
- Provide engineering and operational training for the distributors to enable them to carry out repairs at customer sites.
- Liaise with other departments to drive through improvements identified through analysis of information
Support products throughout the lifecycle.
- Ensure technical knowledge is up to date, informing customers of new upgrades.
- Provide technical support via phone and email.
- Provide monthly activity reports.
- Working closely with the export sales team supporting their strategy for growth in developing markets.
Qualifications, Education, Experience and Skills
- ONC or similar qualification and discipline in electromechanical/electronic engineering.
- Minimum 2 years field service role and familiar with all aspects of customer service including commissioning, repairs, and servicing.
- PLC programming and PC build advantage.
- The ability to interact well with customers and colleagues is essential.
- Good PC literacy.
- Good organisation skill.
- Good methodical approach to problem solving.
- Extensive overseas travel (50% of time).
- Full current driving licence.
